Australian Kaolin White Clay is the most gentle of all the clays and is used in many skin care products because of its absorbency properties.

It is the mildest of the clays and as such is well suited for all skin types, particularly delicate, sensitive and oily skin.

Australian Kaolin White Clay is used to purify, cleanse and detoxify the skin, balance skin oils (sebum), calm inflamed and acne-prone skin.

The Kaolin clay undergoes a mechanical treatment, without any chemical additives. It is crushed and dried.

Colophony (also called gum rosin) is a dried and cleaned part of the resin obtained from pines and some other plants, mostly conifer tress. It is a brittle and transparent brownish or yellowish substance added to compositions to make them elastic. (Rosin is a specific type of resin.)

One common use for this product is adding it with beeswax and Jojoba oil to make reusable beeswax food wraps. This product can range from a powder through to large chunks which may require crushing, but this can be done with a tea towel and rolling pin, or a mortice and pestle or food processor.

Trapeze Artists and Bull Riders also use it for good grip!!

Other names for this product include Greek Pitch, Pine Rosin or Pine Resin.

EPSOM SALT / MAGNESIUM SULPHATE PREMIUM GRADE USP/BP CERTIFIED

A premium USP/BP grade Magnesium Sulphate, commonly known as Epsom salt, which can be used to supply the body with abundant Magnesium and Sulphur which are absolutely essential minerals for health & wellbeing, which makes it an ideal choice for bath soak, foot soak, spa or cosmetic use, and in many other applications for therapeutic benefits.

Nanna's tried and tested home remedy for muscle aches and soreness, is to take a soak with Espom Salt. 

Great for soothing muscle aches by placing 2 cups of Epsom Salt in a standard sized bath and soaking for at least 10 minutes, or make a luxurious soak by mixing 2 cups of Epsom Salt with a cup of Bicarb Soda and 15 drops of your favourite essential oil.

There are various grades and prices for Epsom Salt, but watch out for cheap quality options, as they may be using cheap and even recycled chemicals to produce the salt and save money, and there is no garauntee or testing to verify the amount of magnesium contained in the salt.

USP/BP and Food Grade are the highest grades available, with both having stringent specifications that the Epsom Salt must meet before it can be either grade. If an Epsom Salt meets these specifications, then it is definitely a quality Epsom Salt. Our Epsom Salt is graded both USP and BP grades and is independently analysed to ensure the best quality.

Fractionated Coconut Oil is coconut oil that has had the long-chain fatty acids removed via hydrolysis and steam distillation. Just this one change makes the oil liquid at room temperature, and extends the product's shelf life. You will often hear fractionated coconut oil referred to as MCT oil or FCO. It is much lighter and non-greasy compared to standard coconut oil.

It is used widely in the skincare industry and used to make hair oil, lotions, body creams, lip butter and many other products. It is also used to make soap. You can also use fractionated coconut oil for culinary purposes. It does not become rancid easily, and so you can store it for quite some time. Since this oil can withstand high heat, it can be used for cooking safely. It is also devoid of trans-unsaturated fatty acids, a type of unsaturated fat and using it for cooking is good for the cardiac health.

FCO is also commonly used for massage oil and as a base oil for aromatherapy essential oil blends, due to its non-greasy nature and due to the fact that it resists going rancid due to light and heat, making Fractionated Coconut Oil, a very versatile and hence popular oil.

Grape Seed Oil is extracted from grape seeds leftover from winemaking, and after the juice is pressed from the grapes, the seeds are left over and then can be pressed to release the oil inside of the grape seeds.

Grape Seed Oil is is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog pores or leave a greasy residue and is high in Vitamin E and linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid found in grape-seed oil.

All oils are moisturising, and grape seed oil is no exception. The vitamin E found in grape seed oil is key, because it locks moisture into the skin and the linoleic acid plays an important role as well.

Macadamia Oil is high in mono-unsaturated fatty acids and palmitoleic acid (promotes soft skin) as well as Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. It is a highly nourishing oil for mature and ageing skin.

Slightly thicker than most carrier oils, this non pore-clogging and non-irritating oil is well known for its components that combine with skin lipids to condition and nourish, leaving skin smooth and soft and providing a protective barrier against moisture loss. MAGNESIUM OIL

To make your own concentrated Magnesium Oil, simply boil water and add equal parts magnesium flakes. For example, to make a 250mL batch, boil 250ml of distilled water and dissolve 250g of flakes. Let it cool, and then fill a spray bottle for application directly onto skin.

Spray onto sore muscles and joints, and leave for 10-15 minutes before wiping or rinsing off. Tingling will occur on first applications, and if it becomes uncomfortable, simply rinse off with fresh water.

Mango Butter

The fatty oils are pressed from mango kernels and gently refined to create Mango Butter, a creamy moisturizing butter that is perfect for conditioning hair and skin.

Mango Butter is an extremely versatile ingredient, perfect for use in almost any DIY skin or hair care recipe. It has a soft, creamy texture that is easy to use and absorbs beautifully into the skin.

Mango Butter’s subtle, almost non-existent aroma is perfect alternative to butters like Raw Cocoa or Raw Shea that can have more pronounced characteristic smells. Those who prefer a less aromatic butter or plan to scent their DIY products with essential oils or natural fragrances will love using Mango Butter.

This creamy butter is high in Omega 6, and forms a non-greasy barrier on the skin that is perfect for lipsticks, balms, anti-ageing creams, baby care and hair products.

Phenoxyethanol is a clear, colourless liquid broad spectrum preservative which is soluble in water.

Paraben and Formaldehyde free preservative which has low toxicity, is non-sensitising with only a very slight odour.

Phenoxyethanol is a Broad Spectrum Liquid Preservative commonly used in cosmetic products.

Good bactericide, most active against Gram-negative. Weak on fungicides, so usually combined with other preservative(s), eg Potassium sorbate.

Stable up to 85°C. Usually used at 0.1% at water phase.

Red Raspberry Seed Oil offers the skin broad spectrum protection from damaging UV-A and UV-B rays. It can be added to any formulation to add protection against the sun. The SPF of red raspberry seed oil has been found to be equal to that of titanium dioxide and has been rated to have an SPF as high as 28-50.

Noty only this, but Red Raspberry Seed Oil is highly moisturizing and a great emollient. It possesses an exceptionally high proportion of alpha and gamma tocopherols (Vitamin E), polyphenols and other antioxidants.

It is rich in Vitamin A and contains up to 83% omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are necessary for proper skin function.

Red Raspberry Seed Oil has great anti-inflammatory properties, and is generally found to be better than avocado, grapeseed, hazelnut or wheatgerm oils.

Its high content of Vitamin A makes it a good choice for inclusion within acne formulations.

Its strong antioxidant properties and stable shelf life can help to extend the life of more fragile ingredients included within the same formulation.

Virgin Red Raspberry Seed Oil is extracted without solvents or chemical processing using a cold press method. It is an excellent oil used in cosmetic preparations to carry nutrients to the skin. Rich in skin-soothing components, including Vitamin A and essential fatty acids, it has high levels of tocopherols (antioxidants), which hydrate the skin and leave it feeling soft and smooth.
