Arrowroot powder, also called Arrowroot flour or Arrowroot starch is an effective thickening agent used to add texture and structure in cooking and baking applications.

Arrowroot powder is made by extracting the starches from the tubers of the arrowroot plant,(Maranata Arundinaceaand is cultivated from tropical climates. This easily digestible starch is an excellent nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and corn-free thickener and binder. A huge plus is that it is flavourless, so it can be seamlessly added to savoury dishes and baked goods.

The Arrowroot starch is a very fine white powder that has excellent thickening abilities similar to corn starch. It also has no pronounced flavour and does not add opacity to sauces. If youare avoiding corn, potatoes, and gluten, Arrowroot starch is a good substitute for a thickening agent.

This white silky powder also works as a great thickener for many cosmetics, natural deodorants, and even body powder recipes.

Organic coconut flour is a delicious, low carbohydrate, high-fibre, grain-free alternative to wheat flour made from fresh organic coconut flesh.

Organic coconut flour is a versatile ingredient with a naturally sweet taste suitable for consumption by people who are sensitive to gluten, who are following a paleo or low carbohydrate diet or who simply love the fresh, sweet taste of coconut!

It is becoming popular for gluten-free and paleo baking, or for those looking for a healthy alternative to any wheat-based flours.

Coconut flour can be used in both sweet and savoury recipes. It is unsweetened and has a delicate coconut smell and taste, however, is not overpowering. While it has a light, airy appearance and texture when dried, it becomes quite dense when cooked with or baked.

Because coconut flour is high in fibre, it absorbs more liquid than regular wheat flours – this makes it perfect for denser baked goods and thickening soups or stews. It is important to add enough liquid to your recipes to avoid a dry and crumbly result.

Organic Rolled Oats are great for making our classic ANZAC biscuits, muffins, bread and of course our favourite, hot porridge.

Use Organic Rolled Oats to make your own special muesli blend, add some fibre to a smoothie or even take a bath in them to soothe irritation and itch!

Oats are an ancient cereal whole grain, and are believed to have been cultivated as early as 1000 B.C. by the Greeks and Romans. Rolled Oats have a low GI, so they fill you up and keep you going for longer. They also assist in stabling blood sugar levels and are naturally low in salt.

Organic Rolled Oats are whole oat grains that are first steamed to make them soft and pliable, and then rolled to flatten them to a specific thickness.

This additional processing means they cook much faster than Steel Cut Oats, (in around 2-5 minutes).
Organic Rolled Oats also tend to retain their shape when cooked, unlike Organic Quick Oats.

Organic Rolled Oats versus Traditional Rolled Oats

According to a research review published in 2014 in the “British Journal of Nutrition,” organic crops of oats can contain higher antioxidant concentrations, but both have the same nutritional content and benefits. That being said, many believe that organic oats could be safer to consume because they are not produced with chemical pesticides or fertilizers.

How to Use:

Oats are a great, yet underutilized grain that are perfect for cookies, slices, crumbles and of course the traditional recipe of porridge.

Why not whip up a batch of delicious ANZAC biscuits, make your own perfect blended muesli with some dried fruit and nuts, served with a large dollop of coconut yoghurt, or simply add some to a smoothie to keep you going all day long!
